Michael Pearce is a veteran of the US Army and former law-enforcement officer. After studying examples of surviving medieval European swords he set out to work out the design and engineering principals behind them and worked to make the most authentic, functional swords available. He freely shared this information and with the advent of the internet developed a world-wide reputation for his reproductions of medieval and Viking-era knives and swords. He has also made kitchen and outdoor knives of a variety of types alongside these, and currently these blades are the focus of his work.
