This leuku has an 8″ 1095 tool steel blade 1/8″ thick. The butt-plate and bolster are moose antler a friend brought back from Alaska and the handle is Spalted Maple. The traditional sheath is 7 oz. vegetable-tanned leather treated with a Carnauba Wax finish. The overall weight of the knife and sheath is 10.2 oz.
This traditional outdoor tool is very useful for camping, bushcraft and similar uses, and it’s light weight keeps it from being a burden. The blade’s finish is as-milled; this is a tool and is meant to be used so it’s all business. It is quite snug in the sheath for positive retention.
